How to refill & care

Place your ReCandle Co. refill inside your reusable ceramic vessel, light, and enjoy.

For the best burn, let the candle melt all the way to the edges of the jar, usually about 3–4 hours at a time. Since our wax is a little firmer by design, so it can lift out cleanly when you’re ready to refill, it may take a couple of burns to reach the edges completely. That’s normal.

To keep your candle burning cleanly, trim the wick to 1/4" before each use. Keep away from drafts, children, pets, and anything flammable. Do not move the candle while it’s burning or while the wax is hot.

When about 1/4" of wax remains, it’s time to refill! Let the candle cool completely, then lift the remaining wax out of the vessel. If it feels snug, gently press a spoon or soft butter knife into the wax to create a small crack. This helps it release cleanly.

Wipe the vessel if needed, pop in a fresh refill, and start again.

Our ceramic vessels are hand-thrown locally in Southern California from durable stoneware clay. Each soy candle refill is hand-poured in small batches and made to drop right into your ReCandle Co. vessel.

Your first subscription order includes the full starter kit: one handmade ceramic vessel and your first soy candle refill.

What's the difference between the refillable candle and a refill?

The starter kit is your first ReCandle Co. candle. It includes the reusable ceramic vessel plus your first soy candle refill.

A refill is just the candle part: pre-poured, pre-wicked soy wax that drops into your vessel once the old wax is removed. Once you have the jar, you only need refills.

How long does each refill burn?

Each 8 oz soy candle refill burns for about 40 hours.

For the best burn, let the wax melt to the edges of the vessel before blowing it out, especially on the first few burns.

How do I get the old wax out?
