Step 1: Pop In

Step 2: Burn

Light your ReCandle the way you'd light any candle. On the first burn, let it go for 3–4 hours so the wax pool reaches the edge of the jar, that prevents tunneling and gives you the cleanest burn going forward.

Our 100% soy wax is renewable, biodegradable, and engineered to throw scent without phthalates, parabens, or the synthetic chemicals you'll find in conventional paraffin candles.

Step 3: Pop out & repeat

Here's the part competitors can't do. When your candle reaches the end of its life, let the jar fully cool. Our specially designed soy blend contracts as it cools, so the spent wax lifts right out—no microwaves, no scraping, no hot water.

If a little residue remains on the inside of the jar, that's totally fine. As long as your next refill fits, you're ready to pop in a new scent and start over. Same beautiful jar. Fresh candle. Zero waste.

Common questions about the refillable candle system

How long does each refill burn?

Each ReCandle refill is hand-poured to give you 40–50 hours of burn time, depending on your environment and burn habits. For the cleanest burn, light your candle for 3–4 hours at a time and trim the wick to 1/4" between burns.

What if I can't get the spent wax out?

Make sure the wax has fully cooled—about an hour after the flame goes out.

Press down on any wax clinging to the side walls and slide it toward the center. Those pieces break the seal and give you leverage on the main puck. Then flip the jar upside down and tap the bottom—the wax should drop right out.

If there's no wax on the candle walls, a butter knife or spoon works great: press gently into the remaining wax until the it cracks, then tip it out.

A little residue left behind is totally fine, your next refill will sit right on top of it.

Will any candle refill fit my jar?

Our refills are designed to fit ReCandle Co. ceramic vessels specifically. Refills from other brands might not fit correctly and may not burn safely. Stick with ReCandle Co. refills to keep your system working as designed.

Can I switch scents between refills?

Absolutely. That's one of the best parts of the system. A little wax residue between refills is totally fine and won't affect the new scent. If you want a completely clean slate, pop the empty jar in the microwave for 10–15 seconds to soften any residue, then wipe it out with a reusable cloth or paper towel. Good as new!

How is this different from candle refill kits like Everly or Siblings?

What's in a ReCandle candle?

Our refills are made with a soy wax blend, lead and zinc-free cotton wicks, and fragrance oils formulated without phthalates or ingredients on California's Proposition 65 list. No paraffin, no synthetic dyes. We also offer an unscented refill for fragrance-sensitive households.
